Rahul, Mayawati, and Akhilesh express grief over Hathras accident

Lucknow, July 2 (UNI) Several political leaders, including Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav, and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, expressed condolences over the Hathras incident on Tuesday.

Expressing grief, senior Congress leader and Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi wrote on X, “The news of the death of many devotees due to stampede during the satsang in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, is extremely painful. I express my deepest condolences to all the bereaved families and hope for the speedy recovery of the injured. The government and administration are requested to provide all possible treatment to the injured and relief to the affected families. All the workers of INDI are requested to provide their cooperation in relief and rescue.”

SP president Akhilesh Yadav has expressed deep condolences on the large number of deaths due to the stampede in the satsang in Hathras district. He demanded the immediate provision of the best possible medical facilities to the injured.

BSP supremo Mayawati wrote on X, “It is very sad that a large number of people died and many were injured in a stampede during a satsang in Hathras district, and a young man was killed during a Buddhist/Bhim Katha in Agra. The government should investigate these incidents, take appropriate action, and provide financial assistance to the victim families.”

It may be noted that more than 60 people died in a stampede during a satsang in the Sikandra Rao area of Hathras district on Tuesday. Most of the dead were women.
