Railways is upgrading Sanchi railway station with Rs. 10 crores

  • Tourism will increase with renovation of Sanchi railway station

In view of Buddhist heritage and tourist facilities, the railway administration is now focusing on Sanchi railway station.

The upgradation work of this station has been started with about Rs 10 crore, which is in progress. This station, located in Raisen district and between Bhopal and Vidisha, is very popular among tourists due to the Sanchi Stupa. Keeping this in mind, this station has been included in the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana.

Senior Divisional Commercial Saurabh Kararia said that about three-fourths of the work of Sanchi railway station under West Central Railway Division has been completed. The remaining work will be completed by the end of this year

These facilities will be available with the upgrade in Sanchi

Under the Amrit Bharat Yojana, the station building is being improved as well as beautified by incorporating local art and culture. Redevelopment of the station facade, circulating area, second entrance and arrival/departure building, parking availability, smooth access road for traffic, ramps and toilets for disabled persons, upgraded waiting room, wide foot over bridge, high level platform etc. have been developed.
