Mathura (UP), Nov 14 (UNI) A 40-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl was arrested by the police after an encounter in Mathura district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Thursday.
Circle Officer (CO) Pravin Malik said that Satish Kumar, a resident of Achhnera in Agra district, raped a six-year-old girl in Kotwali area.
“On the complaint of the victim’s father a case was lodged against Satish under relevant sections of the BNS and the Pocso Act,” he said.
He said that the accused was arrested by the police in an encounter near a railway line in Maalgodam area late on Wednesday night.
“The accused sustained bullet injury in his leg and has been admitted to the district hospital,” he said.
