Bhopal: A routine Rapido booking in Bhopal’s Habibganj area turned into a nightmare for Akash Tripathi, who fell victim to a swift mobile phone robbery late Wednesday night. While standing roadside, Tripathi was ambushed by an unknown assailant who snatched his Moto Edge 40 Neo, valued at Rs 30,000, and vanished.
The victim’s attempt to track his device proved futile, as the signal disappeared within hours, suggesting the robber either switched off the phone or removed the SIM. Tripathi has implored police for urgent action.
Local authorities have registered a case and are actively investigating. ASI Santosh Markam revealed that CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being analyzed to identify the culprit. Police are also working with the mobile network provider to trace the phone’s last known location. The incident has heightened concerns about street safety in the Habibganj area, prompting calls for increased vigilance.
