Red Cross building handed over to RSS-affiliated organization in violation of rules: Jeetu Patwari

  • Sinister and unethical attempt to impose BJP’s ideology on Public: Jeetu Patwari

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jeetu Patwari has strongly opposed the Indian Red Cross Society, Madhya Pradesh Branch’s decision to hand over the Itwara Road Red Cross building to Seva Bharti, an RSS affiliate. He accused the BJP of systematically taking over public assets and constitutional institutions established under Congress governments, calling this transfer unlawful.

Patwari asserted that the Red Cross building, originally allocated during the Congress regime, is government property and should not be handed over to a political organization. He highlighted that former Education Minister Mukesh Nayak had expanded the Red Cross Hospital from a single doctor to 70, providing affordable healthcare to thousands. Nayak also established Siddhanta Red Cross, now a premier hospital in Madhya Pradesh.

Citing financial mismanagement, Patwari revealed that an Rs 8 crore FD left by Nayak was misused, reducing the funds to mere lakhs. He alleged that Red Cross funds were used for personal luxuries, including purchasing a high-end Innova car. Essential healthcare services like sonography, dialysis, and TNT tests have been discontinued, while the medicine shop is now privately operated by the institution’s secretary.

Condemning the commercialization of the once-renowned Red Cross blood bank, Patwari called it a betrayal of patients. He criticized the transfer as an unethical misuse of public resources and questioned why a neutral, non-political organization was not chosen instead. He demanded an immediate review of the decision, ensuring the building serves all communities rather than promoting a specific ideology. Patwari also announced plans to raise the issue with the RSS chief, exposing corruption and the blatant misuse of Red Cross assets for political gains.
