Bhopal: The work of removing encroachment from the slum colony right in front of Hotel Taj in the capital continues on Thursday. Amidst tight security, the administration and municipal corporation teams are removing encroachments with JCB machines. So far 134 encroachments have been removed in the colony.
110 houses were removed from Bhadbhada slum on Thursday. The houses were demolished by bulldozing. These are those houses whose owners have given consent to the district administration. The administration’s action on the slum started on Wednesday. 30 houses were demolished on Wednesday. NGT had ordered the removal of 386 houses in the colony. Including yesterday’s and today’s action, 134 houses have been removed so far. Some house owners were given land in Chandpur Berasia area. Some have been compensated.
Household goods shifted: Collector
Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh said that people’s household goods have been shifted to other places through corporation vehicles. 30 families were shifted on Wednesday, after which 110 families have given consent for shifting. They are being shifted today. Those who wanted land have been given pattas in Chandpur. Some have also been given cheques for compensation amount. Even on Thursday, shifting action was being taken in the presence of police personnel. For this, the main road leading to the settlement including Bhadbhada intersection and Karuna Dham road has been closed by barricading.
