Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Indore, the city of Maa Devi Ahilya, is a symbol of development. During her tenure, remarkable development took place in religious places across the country. Currently, Indore is the cleanest city in India and is leading in areas such as IT, healthcare, education, and smart city initiatives. Now, efforts will be intensified to make Indore number one in every sector. The city’s overall development will place it among the leading metropolitan cities of the country. He also mentioned that the Nehru Stadium in Indore will be renovated, and an IT Summit will be organized soon to tap into the immense potential for IT development in the city. Additionally, a new, grand building for the Indore Municipal Corporation will be constructed. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was speaking at the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony held under the “Jankalyan Parv” (Public Welfare Festival) in Indore. During the event, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹1249 crores for Indore.
Dr. Yadav said that the “River Linking Project” would usher in a new era of development in the state. Madhya Pradesh is pioneering in the country to work on two river-linking projects simultaneously. These projects, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, are turning into reality and fulfilling the dreams of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Dr. Yadav praised the ongoing development in Indore and assured that the city will be made number one in every domain and will be developed to stand as a major metropolitan city of the country.
Dr. Yadav also remembered Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, and said that his contributions can never be forgotten. He will always be honored, and his legacy will remain intact. In his memory, five major sites related to his life have been developed as pilgrimage sites. Dr. Yadav also encouraged citizens to take advantage of the ongoing activities under the “Jankalyan Parv” and the “Mukhyamantri Jankalyan Abhiyan” (Chief Minister’s Public Welfare Campaign), through which 76 government schemes and services are being delivered door-to-door to citizens.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, who is also in charge of Indore district, is leading the city towards becoming number one in every field. Indore is already number one in cleanliness and water conservation, and now efforts are underway to make the city number one in environmental sustainability. Over 5.1 million trees have been planted in Indore, with a pledge to plant 51Lakh trees every year for the next five years. He mentioned that efforts are also being made to reduce the city’s temperature by 5 degrees Celsius. Plans are also being made to solve Indore’s traffic problems and improve the city’s traffic system.
Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat remarked that Indore is known for its extraordinary development. For the first time, on a single day, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is giving away development works worth ₹1249 crores in Indore. Indore has become a model of development, and new foundations of progress are being laid. Regarding the River Linking Project, he stated that the projects will lead to significant improvements in irrigation and drinking water facilities, thus fulfilling the vision of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
During the event, Indore Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava delivered the welcome speech and provided information on the development work being done in the city. MP Shankar Lalwani, MLAs Shri Ramesh Mendola, Smt. Malini Gaud, Shri Mahendra Hardia, Shri Manoj Patel, Shri Golu Shukla, Shri Madhu Verma, Chairman of the Scheduled Caste Finance Development Corporation Shri Sawan Sonkar, Chairman of the Sanitation Workers Commission Shri Pratap Karosia, Shri Gaurav Randive, Shri Chintu Verma, and other councilors and a large number of citizens were present at the event.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav Presents ₹1249 Crores Worth of Development Projects for Indore
Dr. Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation for development works worth ₹1249 crores in Indore. He laid the foundation for the construction of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and sewer lines with a cost of ₹511.12 crores, as well as the development of 22 new roads in the master plan of Indore costing ₹442 crores. Other projects included the development of a new MR-10 to MR-12 link road costing ₹43 crores, a sports complex behind Kasturba Garden costing ₹8 crores, and a Shaheed Smarak under Pratik Setu costing ₹1.2 crores. Dr. Yadav also laid the foundation for the beautification and widening of a square in Ward No. 34, costing ₹1.15 crores, and inaugurated various other projects such as a new water distribution pipeline costing ₹21 crores, a smart city sewer line project costing ₹5.5 crores, and a 100-ton Green Waste Plant. Additionally, the Indore Municipal Corporation’s document digitization project was inaugurated, and selected beneficiaries of various government schemes were given their benefits.
