Robotic surgery will start in AIIMS before Hamidia Hospital

Bhopal: Efforts are underway to perform robotic surgery in Hamidia and AIIMS, two major government hospitals of the capital Bhopal. After getting the approval, preparations have intensified in AIIMS Bhopal. AIIMS management is claiming to start surgery in the hospital as soon as possible.

On the other hand, robotic surgery has not started in Hamidia Hospital even after a year of approval. Hamidia has also received a budget of Rs 35 crore for robotic surgery. But this unit has not been prepared yet. AIIMS doctors say that this is a computerized technology, which works as an assistant to the doctor.

AIIMS can become the first hospital in the state

After the start of robotic surgery in AIIMS, knee and hip replacement surgery will be done by robots. AIIMS can be the first government hospital in the state to provide this facility. AIIMS management has started the process of purchasing a robotic machine worth about 18 to 20 crores. AIIMS doctors say that the accuracy rate of robotic knee and hip replacement surgery is 99 percent. This is the reason why efforts have been made to start this service for the last one year. After getting approval for the project from the Center, it has gained momentum. It will start soon.

Cost in private hospitals is 1.5 lakh to 6 lakh

In private hospitals, the cost of robotic replacement surgery is around 1.5 lakh to 6 lakh. In such a situation, it was out of the reach of economically weak people. With the availability of this facility in AIIMS, more people will be able to take advantage of this modern technology. Patients with AIIMS Ayushman Card will get this facility free of cost.
