Russia receives no proposals to start negotiations on Ukraine: Deputy FM

Moscow, Feb 10 (UNI) Moscow has not received any specific proposals to start negotiations on Ukraine that would suit it, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with Sputnik.

When asked to comment on statements made in the West and Ukraine about the imminent start of negotiations, the diplomat said that they “should be perceived as a media warm-up to create the atmosphere they need and the most advantageous positions.”

“We approach such statements realistically,” Galuzin said. “It is important that words be backed up by practical steps that take into account Russia’s legitimate interests, demonstrate a readiness to eradicate the root causes of the crisis and recognize the new realities.”

“No specific proposals of this nature have been received yet,” the deputy minister said.
