Satwik-Chirag dominate in an inconsequential match at Paris Olympics

Paris, July 30 (UNI) India’s badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty showcased their prowess by defeating Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto in straight sets, 21-13, 21-13 at the La Chapelle Arena of the Paris Olympics on Tuesday.

The Indian duo, seeded third, finished off the match in only 40 minutes, underscoring their dominance and securing in the process the top spot in Group C with an unblemished record of two wins in the same number of matches.

The Indian pair’sswift and decisive play demonstrated a blend of strategy and skill that left their opponents struggling to keep pace.

Having already clinched a spot in the quarterfinals, their latest victory will further boost the duo’s morale ahead of Thursday’s men’s doubles qf outing, as they continue their quest for Olympic glory.

Meanwhile, in archery, Bhajan Kaur advanced to the round of 32.
