Bhopal: In line with its significant role in promoting cleanliness, the State Bank of India celebrated the “Swachhata Hi Seva” fortnight campaign from September 17 to October 2, 2024, as per the directives of the central government. On October 2, 2024, SBI organized a cleanliness awareness program near Shahpura Lake to mark the conclusion of the cleanliness fortnight. As part of this campaign, a walkathon rally was held in the Shahpura Lake area, focusing on making the surrounding region free from waste and plastic.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from the Officials and staff members of SBI including several College and School students. They all worked together to clean the area, urging the public not to litter, aimed at making Bhopal a leader in cleanliness standards. Additionally, SBI took the initiative to install dustbins in the lake area to prevent waste from being scattered.
At the start of the cleanliness program, Chief General Manager, Chander Shekhar Sharma flagged off a cleanliness bike rally in association with Bhopal Bikers Club that toured various routes of the city, spreading the message of cleanliness before concluding back at Shahpura Lake. During the event, Sharma addressed the people present stating that cleanliness contributes to personal development and plays a crucial role in our lives. Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, he urged everyone to keep their homes and surroundings completely clean all the time, appealing to all attendees to adhere to the cleanliness directives and standards set by the Government of India, and to fulfill their responsibilities towards cleanliness, thereby playing a significant role in the nation’s development.
The cleanliness campaign was attended by Chander Shekhar Sharma, Chief General Manager SBI Bhopal Circle, General Manager Ajitav Parashar, Ram Kumar Tiwari, Subhakanto Kanungo, President, SBI Ladies Club, Geetu Shekhar Sharma, Deputy General Manager & Circle Development Officer Ashwini Kumar along with other top officials from SBI.
