New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has decided to upgrade the security cover of Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hajipur, Chirag Paswan to Z category.
According to the sources, the MHA has decided to give Z category security to the Chief of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), under which 33 security personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force will now be deployed to protect Paswan round-the-clock.
The decision has been taken in view of reports of increased threat to Paswan, although the government has not yet given a clear reason for increasing his security.
Paswan was earlier being escorted by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) security personnel.
