- Grand welcome at Bhagoria: Dr Yadav celebrates the joy of the festival
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his joy after participating in the Bhagoria Haat, which showcases the cultural diversity and significance of Jhabua district. He noted that the vibrant atmosphere of Phagun is in the air, and the enthusiastic groups celebrating Bhagoria have infused a new sense of excitement, uplifting everyone’s spirits. The Chief Minister joined in the festivities, dancing alongside groups accompanied by drums and traditional music at the venue.
During the event, Dr. Yadav inaugurated the Bhil Maha Sammelan by garlanding portraits of Bharat Mata, Krantisurya Tantya Bhil, Rana Punja, and Shabari Mata, followed by lighting a ceremonial lamp. He remarked, “Seeing the groups dancing joyfully during Bhagoria makes your feet want to dance automatically.” He emphasized that the Bhagoria festival, celebrated for thousands of years in Jhabua during the month of Fagun, has become an integral part of the region’s identity.
The Chief Minister encouraged everyone to honor their ancestors and preserve their culture and heritage. He stated that the government is dedicated to the development of tribal society under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ensuring that youth will have ample employment opportunities without needing to migrate elsewhere. Dr. Yadav announced the initiation of free coaching for various professional courses, including medical college, specifically for tribal students. He also mentioned changes in the policy for establishing medical colleges, prioritizing those in tribal-dominated areas.
Bhagoria Gair Participation
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav actively participated in the Bhagoria Gair, which featured over 250 drum and mandal groups. Each group performed cultural dances as they made their way to the venue, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere. The tribal community warmly welcomed the Chief Minister, celebrating with dance and song throughout the event.
