Mumbai, Sep 14 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday was a life-time high at 67,700.23, advancing 233.24 pts in the opening session as buying was seen across the board after U.S. inflation data cemented the likelihood of a pause in the rate hike cycle by the Federal Reserve.
Nifty rose 80.70 points to 20,150.70.
The midcap gained 0.89 percent and the small cap gained 1.41 percent.
In 30 scrips, 28 advanced, while 2 declined.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 2.08 pc to Rs 132.20, Tech Mahindra by 1.85 pc to Rs 1283.20, Wipro by 1.30 pc to Rs 441.50, and JSW Steel by 1.01 pc to Rs 818.70.
The losers were Bajaj Finance by 0.27 percent to Rs 7455.05 and ITC by 0.12 percent to Rs 452.80.
