Mumbai, Oct 16 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday dropped 115.81 pts to close at 66,166.93 as selling pressure was seen in Telecommunications, Health Care, Technology and Realty stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 19.30 pts at 19,731.75..
The Sensex fell 44 pts at 66,238 in opening session. During the session, it was tumbled down 243 pts at 66,039.38, days low, before closing at 66,166.93, sliding 115.81 pts from its previous close.
The stocks that dragged the market were Telecommunication by 0.74 pc followed by Health Care by 0.47 pc, Realty by 0.39 pc and Technology by 0.32 pc.
In scrips, Nestle India Ltd fell by 1.94 pc to Rs 23,086.65, TCS by 1.29 pc to Rs 3524.15, Asian Paints by 1.15 pc to Rs 3112.60, IndusInd Bank by 1.14 pc to Rs 1446.80 and Bharti Airtel by 0.97 pc to Rs 945.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 1.60 pc to Rs 127, JSW Steel by 1.51 pc to Rs 788.75, HCL Technologies by 1.20 pc to Rs 1270.40 and Axis Bank by 1.13 pc to Rs 1005.20.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.25 pc and Small Cap by 0.34 pc.
In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined.
