Mumbai, Mar 25 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Tuesday ended almost flat at 78,017.19, up a tad by 32.81 points, on the strength of IT stock.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) also ended marginally up by 10.30 pts at 23,668.65.
The Sensex opened on a strong note at 78,296.28, up 312 pts. During the day, it oscillated to touch the day’s high at 78,741.69, gaining by 757 pts, and low of 77,745.63, down by 239 pts.
It finally closed at 78,017.19, advancing by 32.81 pts from its previous close.
Selling in Zomato, IndusInd Bank, Adani Ports and M&M erased earlier gains.
The Nifty registered day’s high at 23,869.60 and low at 23,601.40 pts.
The stocks that rose were IT by 1.17 pc and Technology by 0.97 pc.
The Mid-cap fell by 1.13 percent and Small-cap by 1.63 percent.
Among 30 scrips, 10 advanced while 20 declined.
The gainers were Ultracemco by 3.32 pc to Rs 11,417.85, Bajaj Finserv by 2.16 pc to Rs 1,935.65, Infosys by 1.71 pc to Rs 1,619.35 and Axis Bank by 1.21 pc to Rs 1,111.30.
The losers were Zomato by 5.57 pc to Rs 210.30, IndusInd Bank by 5.09 pc to Rs 635.10, Adani Ports by 1.89 pc to Rs 1,177.85 and M&M by 1.53 pc to Rs 2,733.
