Mumbai, Jun 13 (UNI) Surpassing previous records, the BSE Sensex on Thursday closed a lifetime high at 76810.90, up 204.33 on strong global cues buoyed by a favorable U.S. inflation report, expecting an interest rate cut in the U.S.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 75.95 pts at 23398.90.
The market remained positive throughout the session, as the BSE Sensex opened at 77102, surging 496 pts. It spurted 539 pts at 77145.46 days high, before closing at 76810.90, advancing 204.33 pts from its previous close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 23481.05 and 23353.90 pts respectively.
The stocks that lifted the market were Realty by 2.15 pts, Capital Goods by 2.05 pc, Consumer Durable by 2.01 pc, and Industrials by 1.67 pc.
In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.
The Mid Cap rose 0.79 pc and small Cap by 0.89 pc.
The gainers were Tata Motors by 2.73 pc to Rs 2864.05, Titan by 2.68 pc to Rs 3461.75, L& T by 2.06 pc to Rs 3704.25, and Indusind Bank by 1.59 pc to Rs 1507.05.
The losers were Hind Unilever by 1.64 pc to Rs 2487.55, ICICI Bank by 1.10 pc to Rs 1107.35, Axis Bank by 0.99 pc to Rs 1175.70 and Powergrid by 0.99 pc to Rs 321.40.
