Mumbai, June 18 (UNI) The equity market kept its supremacy for the third straight session on Tuesday as the BSE Sensex breached 77K level for the first time to close at 77301.14, up 308.37 points, at new peak on strong global peers.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 93.30 points at 23,557.90.
The market opened on a strong note at 77235.31, rising 243 points. It was rallied 374 points at 77366.77, days high, before closing at 77301.14 points from its previous close.
The NSE registered days high and low at 23,579.05 and 23,499.70 points respectively.
In stocks, Realty was a star gainers up 2.11 pc followed by Utilities by 1.5 pc, Telecommunications by 1 pc and Industrials by 0.83 pc.
In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.
The Mid Cap rose 0.43 pc and small Cap by 0.96 pc.
The gainers were Powergrid by 3.13 pc to Rs 331.55, Wipro by 3.06 pc to Rs 491.95, ICICI Bank by 1.90 pc to Rs 1126.85, Titan by 1.74 pc to Rs 3589 and M& M by 1.10 pc to Rs 2959.20.
The losers were Maruti Suzuki by 2.14 pc to Rs 12576.20, Ultracemco by 0.96 pc to Rs 11131.50, Tata Steel by 0.90 pc to Rs 181.40 and Tata motors by 0.68 pc to Rs 986.65.
European market was also seen strong.
In Asian market, Nikkei was up by 0.99 pc, Strait Times by 0.13 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 1.15 pc.
