Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) Breaking winning streak of last seven sessions, the BSE Sensex on Thursday slipped 315.06 pts to settle at 79,801.43 on weak global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) declined 82.25 pts at 24,246.70.
The Sensex opened negative at 80,058.48, easing 58 pts. During the day it was dropped 392 pts at 79,724.55, days low, before closing at 79,801.43, sliding 315.06 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered days high at 24,347.85 and low at 24,216.15 pts.
Stocks that kept the market low were Realty, Technology and FMCG stocks.
Realty was slipped by 1.39 pc, FMCG by 0.82 pc and Technology by 0.59 pc.
The Mid cap fell 0.16 pc and Small cap by 0.01 pc.
The losers were Hind Unilever by 4.01 pc to Rs 2325, Bharti Airtel by 1.85 pc to Rs 1846.95, ICICI Bank by 1.57 pc to Rs 1401.60 and Eternal by 0.98 pc to Rs 236.85.
The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 3.29 pc to Rs 820, Ultracemco by 1.77 pc to Rs 12160, Tata Motors by 1.18 pc to Rs 667.70 and Titan by 0.97 pc to Rs 3389.05.
European and US market were seen weak today.
In Asian Market, Strait Times fell by 0.01 pc, Hang Seng by 0.74 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 0.82 pc
