Mumbai, Apr 2 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday jumped 592.93 pts to close at 76,617.44 on the strength of Realty, Consumer Durable and Telecommunications stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 166.65 pts at 23,332.35.
Plunging over 1300 pts on Tuesday, the BSE Sensex today opened at 76,146.28, rising 122 pts. It remained positive throughout the session, as it rallied 656 pts at 76,680.35, days high, before closing at 76,617.44, surging 592.93 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered days high at 23,350
and low at 23,158.45 pts.
Stocks that lifted the market were Realty by 3.62 pc, Consumer Durable by 2.62 pc, Consumer Discretionary Goods and services by 1.70 pc and Telecommunications by 1.22 pc.
The Mid cap rose by 1.38 pc and Small cap by 0.99 pc.
In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.
The gainers were Zomato by 4.92 pc to Rs 212, Titan by 3.73 pc to Rs 3097.80, IndusInd Bank by 2.88 pc to Rs 702.40, Maruti Suzuki by 2.09 pc to Rs 11715.05 and Tech Mahindra by 2.04 pc to Rs 1422.70.
The losers were Nestle India Ltd by 1.36 pc to Rs 2201.85, Ultracemco by 0.88 pc to Rs 11276.35, Powergrid by 0.81 pc to Rs 286.90 and Bajaj Finserv by 0.68 pc to Rs 1923.25.
A mixed trend was seen in Asian Market as Taiwan Weighted was up by 0.08 pc and Set Composite by 0.40 pc.
While, Strait Times fell by 0.37 pc, Hang Seng by 0.02 pc and Kospi by 0.62 pc.
