Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday regained 97.84 pts at 82,988.78 on the strength of Utilities, Power and Realty stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 27.25 pts at 25,383.75.
Sliding 71 pts in the previous session, the Sensex opened higher at 82,985.33, surging 95 pts. During the day, it was rallied 294 pts at 83,184.34, days high before closing at 82,988.78, up 97.84 pts from its last close. It was registered days low at 82,832.82, easing 58 pts.
The NSE registered days high and low at 25,445.70 and 24,336.20 pts respectively.
The stocks that lifted the market were Utilities by 1.97 pc followed by Power by 1.93 pc and Realty by 0.52 pc.
The Mid cap rose by 0.01 pc and Small cap by 0.28 pc.
In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined.
The gainers were NTPC by 2.44 pc to Rs 411.55, JSW Steel by 1.71 pc to Rs 970.80, L& T by 1.28 pc to Rs 3660, Axis Bank by 0.97 pc to Rs 1229.50 and ICICI Bank by 0.94 pc to Rs 1262.30.
The losers were Bajaj Finance by 3.36 pc to Rs 7342.10, Hind Unilever by 2.21 pc to Rs 2869, Bajaj Finserv by 1.93 pc to Rs 1857.20 and Adani Ports by 0.87 pc to Rs 1439.35.
