Mumbai, Dec 4 (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained on top for the fourth consecutive session on Wednesday, advancing 110.58 pts to close at 80,956.33 following gains in Realty, Financial services, and Bankex stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 10.30 pts to 24,467.45.
Though an oscillation was seen during the day, the Sensex finished in the green only. As it opened strong at 81,036.22, up 191 pts. During the day it rallied 400 pts at 81,245.39, the day’s high, before closing at 80,956.33, rising 110.58 pts from its previous close.
Meanwhile, it slipped 215 pts at 80,630.53, the day’s low.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 24,573.20 pts and 24,368.30 pts, respectively.
The stocks that kept the market firm were Realty by 2.13 pc, Financial Services by 1.19 pc, and Bankex by 0.91 pc.
The mid cap rose 0.83% and Small cap by 0.68%.
In 30 scripts, 15 advanced while 15 declined.
The gainers were HDFC Bank by 1.60 pc to Rs 1856, Bajaj Finserv by 1.41 pc to Rs 1630, NTPC by 1.36 pc to Rs 372.50, Titan by 1.01 pc to Rs 3368, and TCS by 0.93 pc to Rs 4341.30.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 2.17 pc to Rs 1584.50, Tata Motors by 1.63 pc to Rs 788.10, Adani Ports by 1.58 pc to Rs 1268.40, and Powergrid by 1.36 pc to Rs 325.25.
