Sensex’s new peak opens at 80,321.79 points

Mumbai, July 4 (UNI) The BSE Sensex remained on top on Thursday too, rallying 335 points to open at 80,321.79, a new high as buying was witnessed across the level amid a strong Asian market.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) advanced 96.65 points to 24,383.15.

The BSE Sensex registered intraday highs at 80,392.64 and lows at 80,113.81 points, respectively.

The NSE registered days high and low at 24,401 and 24,319.15 points, respectively.

In 30 scrips, 24 advanced while 6 declined.

The midcap rose by 0.45 pc and the small cap by 0.60 pc.

The gainers were HCL Technologies by 2.06 pc to Rs 1511.30, ICICI Bank by 1.95 pc to Rs 1224.70, Tata Motors by 1.65 pc to Rs 991.70, TCS by 1.35 pc to Rs 4018.50, and NTPC by 1.32 pc to Rs 377.50.

The losers were HDFC Bank Ltd. by 1.43 pc to Rs 1743.10, IndusInd Bank by 0.77 pc to Rs 1444.40, and Titan by 0.39 pc to Rs 3347.65.
