Shah and CM offer worship at Pitreshwar Hanuman Temple

Bhopal: Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign started for environmental protection on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav planted saplings at Pitreshwar Hanuman Dham in Indore. Before this, they prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the country and the state by offering prayers at Hanuman Dham Temple. Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Legislative Council Member of Uttar Pradesh Dr. Mahendra Singh also planted saplings.

Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, Union Home Minister Shah planted a Peepal tree in the memory of his mother Late Smt. Kusumben Shah. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav planted a banyan tree in the memory of his mother Late Smt. Leela Poonamchand Yadav and Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya planted a banyan tree in the memory of his mother Late Smt. Ayodhyadevi Vijayvargiya. Along with planting the tree, he appealed to the general public to plant a tree for environmental protection and to keep our Mother Earth green and also take a pledge to protect it.

On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Savitri Thakur, local MP Shankar Lalwani, Rajya Sabha member Smt. Kavita Patidar, MLAs Ramesh Mendola, Madhu Verma, Mahendra Hardia, Golu Shukla along with other public representatives and Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, IG Anurag, Police Commissioner Rakesh Gupta, Collector Ashish Singh were present.

One tree is equal to 10 sons: CM

Participating in the mass plantation drive, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that there is a saying in Malwa “Dag-Dag Roti Pag-Pag Neer”. There used to be countless trees here, which got extinct with the passage of time. Many rivers in Malwa like Chambal, Kshipra, Gambhir and seven other rivers originate from Indore. He said that one tree is equal to 10 sons. In this way, the record of planting 51 lakh saplings in Indore today is unprecedented. The culture of Malwa has a long-standing tradition of maintaining harmony with nature from the very beginning. Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign has taken a very broad form. Under the campaign, 51 lakh saplings are being planted in Indore, 40 lakh in Bhopal and 10 lakh in Ujjain. The Chief Minister wished everyone on his behalf.

51 lakh saplings will be planted every year: Vijayvargiya

Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the population of Indore is 30 lakh but we will plant 51 lakh saplings. Our Indore is grateful to the Prime Minister. He has blessed us to make it a green city. Now we will plant 51 lakh saplings every year.

Actor Randeep Hooda said that he is feeling proud by participating in the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. This noble campaign of planting 11 lakh saplings in 24 hours on the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will give Indore a distinct identity on the world map. He said that trees are very important for our health along with protecting the environment.
