Union Home Minister Amit Shah today made an emotional appeal to the countrymen amidst the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign going on across the country, saying that planting a tree is easy, but nurturing it is difficult. After planting a tree, take care of it like a son, it will grow up and take care of you like a mother.
Actor Randeep Hooda who took part in the programme said that he is feeling proud by participating in the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. This noble campaign of planting 11 lakh saplings in 24 hours on the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will give Indore a distinct identity on the world map. He said that trees are very important for our health along with protecting the environment.
Shah said that on the call of Prime Minister Modi, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign became a mass movement. He said Madhya Pradesh works to provide oxygen to the entire country. With the unprecedented achievement of planting 11 lakh saplings, Indore will become famous all over the world with a new record, he said. Shah said now Indore will be known as Green City. Indore created a world record of planting 11 lakh saplings in a single day.11 lakh saplings were planted in Indore in a single day today. Shah was participating in this massive campaign. During this, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Savitri Thakur, State Government Ministers Kailash Vijayvargiya and Tulsi Silavat and other public representatives were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called upon the whole country to run this campaign. In the beginning, no one knew that this would become a mass movement instead of a slogan. Every person is paying obeisance to Mother Earth along with his mother while planting a tree.
Indore will also be known for this campaign
He said that Indore is known for cleanliness, taste, good governance, cooperation and participation. From today, Indore will also be known across the country in the name of this campaign.
Giving details of the program, Shah said that Minister Vijayvargiya has connected every section of the society with this campaign. This is not just a government program. The government cannot make any movement successful, everyone has a role in it. The entire Indore, every caste and society has been connected with this campaign.
The Home Minister said that trees are also mentioned in the scriptures. It is said that one tree is equal to 10 sons. At present, there is concern about the environment in the whole world. The heat is increasing due to the hole in the ozone layer. This campaign is the right answer to this.
MP gives oxygen to country
He said that Madhya Pradesh is called the lung of India. This state gives oxygen to the whole country. 31 percent of the state’s area comes under ‘forest cover’. This is 12 percent of the entire country that is why tourism in its favor has been promoted within the state.
Shah said that the United Nations has decided to give the ‘Champion of Earth’ award to Prime Minister Modi. Prime Minister Modi has taken many steps for the environment at the national level.
Shah, who came to Madhya Pradesh for the first time after the Lok Sabha elections, said that he greets the people here with folded hands. The Bharatiya Janata Party has received a lot of love from here (in the form of all 29 seats). Madhya Pradesh also deserves some credit for the country becoming number one.
