Siddaramaiah must relinquish power to DKS, says Vokkaliga seer

Bengaluru, June 27 (UNI) A potential power tussle within the Karnataka Congress has once again come to the fore after Vokkaliga seer Chandrashekar Swamiji publicly urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to step down in favour of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

During the Kempegowda Jayanti event on Thursday, which was attended by Siddaramaiah, Swamiji made a bold statement: “Each leader has had their chance to lead and experience power. DK Shivakumar has yet to be given that opportunity.

“Siddaramaiah has already held power. Looking ahead, it is time for him to pass the baton to Shivakumar.

“I earnestly urge Siddaramaiah to make way for DK Shivakumar as Chief Minister.”

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah responded to the seer from the Vishwa Vokkaliga Mahasamastana Mutt, saying that any decision regarding the leadership would be made by the Congress high command.

Meanwhile, the BJP has seized the moment to criticise the Congress, highlighting the internal discord and power struggles within the party.
