- Dr Yadav engages in cleaning Narmada river ghat in ‘Jal-Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan’
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday, took part in ‘Jal-Ganga Samvardhan’ Campaign at Nemawar, in Dewas district. Following to offering prayers at Narmada River and cleaning the river bank, Dr. Yadav announced to restore the historic Siddheshwar Mahadev temple, enhancing its ancient splendor. He highlighted that the Jal-Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, spanning from June 5 to June 16 in celebration of Ganga Dussehra, is dedicated to the conservation and rejuvenation of rivers, drains, and traditional water structures.
This initiative includes the cleaning and deepening of ponds, lakes, wells, and stepwells, ensuring their preservation for future generations. MLA Shri Ashish Govind Sharma also addressed the program. Mahant Shri Ram Swaroop Shastri Ji Maharaj, Mahant Shri Vitthaldas Ji Maharaj, Mahant Shri Bhagwat Das Ji Maharaj, Municipal Council Chairman and other public representatives and a large number of area residents were present in the program.
Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that approximately 3,078 water structures in the Dewas district are undergoing renovation with an investment of Rs 5 crore 65 lakh. Among these, around 650 structures in urban areas are being renovated with a budget of approximately Rs 1 crore 78 lakh. Additionally, over 2,400 water structures are being deepened and cleaned with an allocation of Rs 1 crore 68 lakh. The initiative includes work on 196 old ponds, 105 stop dams, 172 wells, and various other water sources in the district. Dr. Yadav also mentioned that rainwater is being harvested through roof collection systems at about 250 locations in Dewas district. The campaign aims to purify the Kshipra, Kalisindh, and other rivers, alongside the Narmada River.
Dr. Yadav said that this Narmada ghat of Nemawar is very sacred. He said that there is importance in celebrating all the Teej festivals here which we celebrate according to the seasons. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav offered prayers at Shri Siddheshwar Mahadev Temple located in Nemawar and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the state.
Panch Laddoo temple sites to be protected
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, on the demand of MLA Shri Ashish Sharma, assured the protection of the Panch Laddoo temple sites (where Lord Parshuram offered Pind Daan to his parents) which comes under submergence area due to the construction of Handia Barrage Dam in village Turnal. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Panch Laddoo temple site will be developed. Industries will also be set up. Funds will also be given to develop cow sheds in the state.
