Six MoUs worth Rs 3,114 cr signed to set up industrial units in Assam

Guwahati, Sep 23 (UNI) Providing a major boost to the Industrial growth in Assam, six MoUs worth Rs 3,114 crore have been signed between the Industries Department and six private companies in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday to establish various industrial units in the state.

Addressing the the MoU signing ceremony, the Chief Minister said, This initiative will pave way to set up industrial units in Assam.

MoUs will bring a total investment of Rs 3,114 core and it will generate more than 5,000 job opportunities in the state.

Today, the Assam Government industries department signed Six MoUs with six private companies. As per the memorandum, M/s Kesar Petro Products will pump an investment of Rs 2,000 crore which will generate 200 direct and 1800 indirect employment.

Longspan Structures Private Limited came forward to invest Rs 129 Crore which will generate 220 direct and 180 indirect employment.

M/s SBL Biscuits Private Limited will invest Rs139.14 croe and will generate 200 direct and 350 indirect employment.

M/s Umrangshu (India) Cements LLP will make an investment of RS 285 crore which will generate 300 direct and 700 indirect employment.

M/s Sunit Breweries Private Limited will invest Rs 151 crore which will generate 200 direct and 200 indirect employment.

M/s Jericho Foods and Beverages LLP came forward to invest Rs 410 crore will generate 300 direct and 500 indirect employment.

“We have signed eight MoUs worth Rs 8n200 crore on May 9 this year. With today’s programme, this year, we have signed record Investment MoUs of 11,314 crore that will create over 10,000 jobs in the State”, he added.

“All this indicates that Assam is moving forward and soon it will become an industrial state. We are encouraging private investors to invest in Assam and it is a good sign for us that more and more private investors are interested in investing in Assam”, Sarma remarked.

The Chief Minister said, “Assam is now the safest place to invest. We will put out the red carpet to our investors. Our government is actively participating in promoting industry in Assam.”

Industry Minister Bimal Bora, Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruwa, Revenue Minister Jogen Mohon Wnd and Assam Chief Secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur attended the MoUs signing ceremony.
