- For Mahashivratri celebrations
Ujjain: On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri on February 26, thousands of devotees from across the country will visit Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple to seek the blessings of Baba Mahakal. To accommodate the devotees, the temple management committee has made special arrangements, including the distribution of falahari prasad at the free Annakshetra.
In the Annakshetra, devotees are provided with seasonal meals and falahari prasad. During summer, the offerings include dal-rice, plain roti, and vegetables, while the menu changes in colder months. For Mahashivratri, a special falahari prasad will be served, featuring Sabudana Khichdi, Potato Chips, Aamti, and Sabudana Kheer. Additionally, fruits will be distributed to both the visiting devotees and the staff engaged in festival arrangements.
Passes to avail meals
With the inauguration of a new two-storey Annakshetra building, managed by the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee, the facilities for devotees have significantly improved. This newly constructed building, located near Mahalok Parking, can accommodate up to 5,000 devotees at a time. Recently, the second floor of the Annakshetra has also been opened for dining services.
To avail meals, devotees can collect meal passes from counters set up within the temple premises and at Mahakal Lok. A dedicated team of 150 employees, working from 6 AM to 10 PM, ensures smooth food preparation, distribution, and cleaning services. These efforts aim to enhance the spiritual experience of all devotees visiting Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple on this sacred occasion.
