Academy for Break Dance, Malkhamb, E-Games will be set up; CM launches Khelo MP Youth Games
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that there will be no dearth of funds to promote sports in the state. We will increase the sports budget to Rs 1000 crore. CM Shivraj said that every player who receives Vikram Award will be given government job.
An academy for break dance, Malkhamb and e-games will be established in the state. With the aim of increasing resources for sports, Sports Development Corporation will be formed in the state, whose chairperson will be Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia. A new policy will be made for the maintenance of new stadiums and existing stadiums in the state.
Khelo MP Youth Games-2023 launched
CM Shivraj announced the launch of Khelo MP Youth Games-2023. The Chief Minister inaugurated the state-level sports competitions by unveiling the Games Trophy, a symbol of excellence in sports, at the Tatya Tope Stadium in Bhopal and receiving the sports torch from eminent players.
CM Shivraj had announced to organize Khelo MP Youth Games in the Youth Mahapanchayat held on 23 March 2023. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia was present in the programme. Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anurag Thakur joined the programme virtually.
Cheques given to players who won medals
CM Shivraj honoured the players who won medals in national and international sports competitions by presenting them with cheques. Under this, a cheque of Rs 2 crore 75 lakh was given to shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh of Bhopal Shooting Academy, who did wonders in the Asiad, and a cheque of Rs 1 crore 25 lakh was given to shooter Ashi Chouksey. Parents of both players received the cheques.
Pooja Vastrakar, member of the gold medal winning team in women’s cricket, was given a cheque of Rs 1 crore, sailor Neha Thakur was given a cheque of Rs 50 lakh and shooting player Manisha Keer was given a cheque of Rs 50 lakh. Neha and Manisha’s parents received the cheque.
Khelenge Hum – Jeetega MP
CM Shivraj said that the players of Madhya Pradesh have made the state proud by winning a large number of medals in the ongoing Asian Games in China. Daughters have surpassed sons in winning medals. We are committed to developing sports culture in the entire state.
The CM said with the aim of creating a positive environment towards sports in the state, sports competitions are being organised at the village level, development block, district, division along with state level. Organising Khelo MP Youth Games is a step in this direction.
Over 1 lakh youth will participate
At the outset, two short films were screened at the inauguration of the programme. Various cultural programmes were held on the main ground of the stadium. It is noteworthy that the state-level Khelo MP-2023 competitions will be held till October 5 in Bhopal, Rewa, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Katni and Shivpuri.
