Srinagar: 4 residential houses gutted in Downtown

Srinagar, Sep 18 (UNI) At least four residential houses were gutted in a devastating fire incident at the Chotta Bazar area of downtown Srinagar on Wednesday early morning.

Fire and emergency officials said that a fire broke out at around 4.30 am in a house in the Chotta Bazar area and engulfed other houses, causing extensive damage to four residential houses.

Several fire tenders were rushed from the city fire station to extinguish the leaping flames.

No one was injured in the incident, and the cause of the fire is being investigated, they said.

Meanwhile, Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari, in a tweet, has expressed sympathies with the families who lost their homes in the fire incident.

He has urged the administration to provide immediate relief and adequate compensation to these families to rebuild their lives.
