State assembly will be paperless by next monsoon session

Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar has directed that the state assembly should be made paperless by the monsoon session, 2025. For this, the National e-Vidhan Project (NeVA) should be implemented in the Assembly. He has also directed to give adequate information about this project to the assembly members before its implementation. Assembly Speaker Tomar was addressing the meeting of NeVA House Committee in the Assembly on Wednesday. The Assembly Speaker said that this project needs to be implemented as soon as possible. He informed that till now 25 houses of 23 states have signed the letter to implement the e-Vidhan project sponsored by the Central Government. This project has been implemented in 14 houses of 13 states of the country. Assembly Speaker Tomar said that now the committee should be informed about the progress of the project every two months. It was told in the meeting that the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs of the Central Government has been made the nodal department for this project. Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda said that the cooperation of NIC should be taken up to the district level in the e-Vidhan project.

The committee of MLAs formed

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the committee of MLAs formed to implement this project should soon visit those states where this project has been successfully implemented. He also talked about paying special attention to cyber security for the e-Vidhan project. In the meeting, the Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly, Awadhesh Pratap Singh said that 60 percent of the total project cost will be borne by the Central Government and 40 percent by the State Government. The Central Government has so far approved the project works worth Rs. 19 crore 36 lakh. Tablets, network and e-learning and e-facility centers were also discussed in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that for the convenience of the MLAs, the NIC of the district will be set up. The centre will be called as the nodal training agency, so that the MLAs can avail the benefit of this service in a convenient manner.
