New Delhi, Apr 26 (UNI) Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi on Friday announced that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita will campaign for the party for the Lok Sabha election across the country.
Addressing a press conference, Atishi said, “In opposition to the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, Sunita Kejriwal will seek votes and blessings for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from the people of Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, and Haryana.”
“She will kick off the campaign with a mega roadshow in the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, followed by another in West Delhi on Sunday, where she will seek blessings for Arvind Kejriwal from the public,” Atishi said.
“Immediately after announcing the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led central government and its political tool, the ED, arrested Delhi’s popular Chief Minister. He was arrested before the announcement of the elections because BJP was afraid of Arvind Kejriwal. BJP didn’t want Arvind Kejriwal to enter the electoral arena, so they arrested him,” Atishi asserted.
“Common people across Delhi, Punjab, or other parts of the country are protesting against Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dictatorship, against the attack on democracy, and people are saying in one voice that we will respond to Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest with our votes,” Atishi said.
“I want to tell BJP that the people of Delhi, Punjab, and the entire country stand with Arvind Kejriwal and will give their blessings to him and vote for the AAP,” Atishi added.
