Supervisor dies after falling from under-construction building

  • Foot slipped while holding trolley while installing lift

Bhopal: A contractor working in the under-construction hostel of a private engineering college located on Raisen Road died after falling from the third floor. The accident happened when 36-year-old Gagan Garg was working. Many labourers were also present there at that time.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The police have prepared a Panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem. Also, a detailed investigation of the case is being done. The police is also finding out whether there were adequate safety arrangements during the construction work or not.

It is being told that at that time Gagan along with his team was installing a lift for loading goods. Due to the trolley suddenly slipping, Gagan tried to hold the trolley, but in this attempt his foot also slipped. He suffered serious injuries after falling about 30 feet down, after which he was taken to the hospital.

Died during treatment

According to Bilkhiriya police, Gagan lived in a rented house in a colony on Raisen Road. On Monday, he was working on the third floor of a hostel under construction. After the accident, the workers immediately rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where after about three hours of treatment, the doctors declared him dead.
