Bhopal, Governor Shri Patel said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, unprecedented works of tribal welfare are being done in the entire country. PM Jan Man Yojana and Sickle Cell Eradication Mission are a great campaign for tribal welfare. In this campaign, the state government is doing excellent work for tribal welfare. Through many departments, effective efforts are continuously being made to bring the most backward tribes into the mainstream of development.
Governor Shri Patel said that it is a matter of good fortune for the state that the resolution of Sickle Cell Eradication Mission was taken from the land of Madhya Pradesh. The central and state governments are carrying out tests and awareness campaigns on an intensive level towards the elimination of sickle cell. So far, sickle cell screening of 82 lakh people has been completed in the state. Governor Shri Patel, while taking information about the sickle cell tests in Shahdol district, directed the officials to complete the work of sickle cell card distribution soon.
Governor Shri Patel said that the most effective way to prevent sickle cell is awareness about this disease. He said that before marriage, the boy and the girl must match their sickle cell report cards. He said that the child’s sickle cell test must be done during pregnancy and even after birth of the child. Governor Shri Patel called upon everyone that testing and awareness about sickle cell is the collective responsibility of all of us. Governor Shri Patel paid his respects to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary and also remembered the great revolutionaries and tribal leader of the state and the country. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the inauguration in the Tribal Museum in Jabalpur and Chhindwara on the occasion of Janjati Gaurav Diwas.
