- Loco pilot stops train by applying emergency brakes

A tractor got stuck on the railway line near Guramkhedi of Itarsi-Jabalpur railway section in Narmadapuram district. At the same time, it was the time of arrival of the Somnath Express.
Due to the presence of mind of the loco pilot, a major accident was averted. There is no railway crossing at the place where this incident happened, then how did the tractor driver take such a big risk? After the incident, two trains Somnath Express and Danapur Express had to be stopped. The railway gate is about two kilometers away from where the tractor driver was crossing the railway line. Many times tractor drivers cross the track risking their lives in the pursuit of a shortcut.
When Somnath Express was going from Itarsi to Jabalpur, its loco pilot saw a tractor stuck on the track. He immediately reduced the speed and stopped the train and informed the control room. To alert the driver of the other train Danapur Express, which was coming on the same track, firecrackers were burst 1 km before on the track, due to which its pilot stopped the train by applying emergency brakes. Due to this incident, railway traffic was disrupted for about half an hour.
