Trainee IAS officer gets clean chit in alleged scuffle with MLA’s Family

Bhopal: In a case involving allegations of physical altercation with the family of Bichhiya MLA Narayan Singh Patta, trainee IAS officer and SDM Aquib Khan has been cleared of all charges. An investigation report submitted by the inquiry officer confirmed that no misconduct or physical altercation took place between the SDM and the MLA’s mother, brother, or daughter-in-law. The report, which found no evidence to support the claims, was shared in a written response to the question raised by the MLA in the state assembly.

The government clarified that the report had not been presented initially, but when it was, it clearly stated that no such incident had occurred. Consequently, no action has been proposed against SDM Aquib Khan. The government further informed the assembly that MLA Patta’s complaint, addressed to the Chief Secretary on February 2, led to a formal inquiry. The report from the Jabalpur Divisional Commissioner was sought and reviewed, which found no merit in the allegations.

The MLA had accused the SDM of chasing a young man, who had been digging soil for cattle shed near the village, and allegedly assaulting him inside the MLA’s ancestral home. During this altercation, it was claimed that the SDM also manhandled the MLA’s elderly mother and daughter-in-law. However, after a thorough investigation, the allegations were found to be baseless, and the officer was given a clean chit.
