- Event organized in Ravindra Bhawan on 44th death anniversary of Mohammad Rafi

On the 44th death anniversary of famous singer Mohammad Rafi, Navankur Group organized an evening named ‘Ek Shaam Rafi Ke Naam’ in Hansdhwani Auditorium of Ravindra Bhawan on 31 July, in which singers remembered Rafi sahab by presenting songs sung by him.
In this event, Imran Akhtar from Kolkata, Praveen Kumar from Jamnagar, Gujarat and Mamta Rajput from Mumbai gave their presentation. Zuber Sheikh, the famous sitar player of Indian film industry, was the center of attraction in this program. The program started with the bhajan Jai Raghunandan Jai Siyaram sung by Rafi sahab. Paachhin Joshi accompanied Imran Akhtar with the sitar based songs ‘Madhuban Mein Radhika Nache Re’ and ‘Kuhu Kuhu Bole Koyaliya’. The famous chorus song Parvat ke us paar was sung beautifully by Mamta Rajput from Mumbai with Praveen Kumar. Bhopal’s Anirudh Saxena presented Nache Man Mora and won the applause of the audience. Bhopal’s Shreeja Upadhyay, who recently received the Golden Mic from Indian Idol, and Bhopal’s Palchhin Joshi, who was selected among the 20 selected singers of the country in the country’s famous Khazana Ghazal Festival, along with Upasana Sarang Tyagi and Meenakshi Khare sang together in the duet.
The program was conducted by Ashish Dave while the sound was conducted by Mohammad Shoaib. The state’s well-known musicians Mukesh Katare, Shailendra Raikwar, Ritul Hazarika, Rajkumar Saxena, Nikhil Palvi, Prakash Kemen, and Shahnawaz Khan accompanied these singers. At the end of the program, tribute was paid to Rafi sahab by singing Tum Mujhe Yu Bhula Na Paaoge.
Navankur has been organising this programme on Rafi sahab’s death anniversary since 1983. Even during Covid, Navankur presented this programme online on Facebook. With the aim of providing opportunities to new artists, Navankur is constantly working to discover new and promising singers and provide them a platform.
