Two Blood Donation camps organised by BMHRC on World Blood Donor Day

Bhopal: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, blood donation camps were organized on Friday, June 14, at Hotel Sayaji and SBI Life Insurance Company in MP Nagar. Employees from both institutions actively participated in these camps. More than 50 people donated blood at both camps.

Dr. Manisha Shrivastava, Director in-charge, BMHRC, said that there is no substitute for blood. It cannot be manufactured and is only obtained through donations from the public. This is why blood donation is considered a noble act, and voluntary blood donors are given high respect in society. One unit of blood can be separated into three different blood components. However, it cannot be stored for an extended period.

She also informed that BMHRC will organize a program on June 19 to honour voluntary blood donors. During this event, there will be poster making competitions, slogan competitions, and speech competitions. This year’s theme for World Blood Donor Day is “20 years of celebrating giving: thank you blood donors!”
