Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visits EPFO

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 20 (UNI) Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya visited the Zonal Office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) here on Sunday.

During his visit, Dr. Mandaviya interacted with senior officers of EPFO, ESIC and CLC in Kerala. The Minister reviewed the performance of the offices of EPFO, ESIC and CLC.

Union minister also stressed the need to make the IT system of EPFO more robust and comparable to the best in the world. Dr. Mandaviya emphasised the need to enhance social security coverage and to provide better services to subscribers.

The minister suggested that volunteers of My Bharat can be used to collect life certificates where it is not submitted.

Union Minister also suggested that the insured persons of ESIC should also be able to avail of the benefits like sick leave benefits through an online claim filing mechanism without the need to visit ESI dispensaries.

The meeting was attended by Mukesh Kumar, Addl. Central PF Commissioner, S. Sankar, Regional Director (I/C), and Rohit Mani Tiwari, Regional Labour Commissioner, and other officers of the Labour Ministry in Kerala.
