Kabul, Mar 25 (UNI) Uzbekistan has delivered almost 200 tonnes of food to Afghanistan this week through the northern Afghan province of Balkh, Afghan media reported on Monday.
The aid was handed over to the Afghan government in the town of Hairatan, the Ariana news portal reported on Monday, adding that it included flour, wheat, pasta, vegetable oil, sugar, instant meals, red beans and mung beans.
Afghan officials expressed gratitude to the president and people of Uzbekistan for the assistance provided, the report added.
In late December, Uzbekistan already sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, including food and medicine, while Uzbek doctors conducted free medical examinations of the population in Balkh province from December 25-30.
