- Artists who preserve literary and artistic heritage will be honored
Bhopal: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will attend the 66th All India Kalidas Festival being organized in Ujjain on Tuesday, November 12 as the Chief Guest. Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will also attend. The ceremony will be inaugurated at 4 pm and cultural programs will be presented from 7 pm.
On Wednesday, November 13, the first session of the National Research Seminar based on Panch Mahabhuta Vimarsh in the literature of Mahakavi Kalidas will be organized at 10 am, National Research Seminar under Vikram University at 2 pm and Pandit Suryanarayan Vyas Lecture Series at 5 pm. After this, at 7 pm, a dance drama based on Shastradharmi style and inspired by traditional style will be presented. Before this, Mangal Kalash Yatra was taken out on Monday and a program of Naandi-Bhakti music was held at Kalidas Academy.
Lecture series other programs on Nov 14
On Thursday, 14 November, the second session of the research seminar, lecture series Kutumb Vyavastha, Hindi drama Vasant Sena will be presented. On 15 November, the third session of the seminar, lecture series- Kalidas’s environmental thoughts, folk singing and drama Abhigyan Shakuntalam will be presented. On 16 November, Sanskrit Kavi Samavay, inter-university Sanskrit debate competition, folk dance will be presented. On 17 November, inter-college Kalidas poetry recitation, inter-college Hindi debate competition, classical singing will be held. On 18 November, the closing program of the function will be held at 4:30 pm. After this, a classical style recital will be organized at 7 pm.

This year, the Kalidas Alankaran Samman for 2022-2023 will be given to Pt. Uday Bhawalkar Pune (2022) for classical singing, Pt. Arvind Parekh Mumbai (2023), Dr. Sandhya Purecha Mumbai (2022) for classical dance, Guru Kalavati Devi Manipur (2023), Mr. P.R. Daroch Delhi- Arts and Crafts (2022), Mr. Raghupati Bhatt Mysore (2023) for art and craft, Ms. Bhanu Bharti Rajasthan (2022) for drama and Mr. Rudraprasad Sen Gupta Kolkata (2023).
Visitors will get the thrill of sky diving
During the Kalidas festival being held in Ujjain, visitors can enjoy the thrill of the sky diving festival organized by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. For three months, tourists will get the thrilling experience of seeing the city of Mahakal by jumping from a height of 10 thousand feet at the Datana Air Strip of Ujjain.
