Vietnamese PM arriving on three-day state visit, to hold talks with PM Modi

New Delhi, July 30 (UNI) The Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, accompanied by a high-level delegation, will be on a three-day State Visit to India from July 30, during which he is to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Vietnamese PM’s delegation will include several Ministers, deputy Ministers and business leaders, a statement said.

The Vietnamese PM arrives tonight and will devote tomorrow to programmes in Delhi.

On Thursday, August 1, Prime Minister Chinh will receive a ceremonial welcome at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan in the morning, after which he will visit Raj Ghat for the wreath-laying ceremony.

After that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will call on him at the Hotel ITC Maurya.

Later in the morning, the Vietnamese PM and PM Modi will hold bilateral discussions at Hyderabad House, which will be followed by the exchange of agreements and press statements.

PM Modi will host a luncheon in honour of the visiting dignitary.

Prime Minister Chinh will in the evening call on President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The Vietnamese PM will deliver the ICWA Lecture at Sapru House, and depart later in the evening.

India and Vietnam have age-old historical and civilizational ties, which were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the visit of Prime Minister Modi to Vietnam in September 2016.

India considers Vietnam as a key pillar of its Act East Policy and an important partner in its Indo-Pacific vision, the statement added.
