‘Wait and see’, Ex-Jharkand CM Champi’s reply on joining the BJP

Ranchi, Aug 17 (UNI) Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren on Saturday said he was not aware about the rumours being spread on his joining in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of Assembly election in the state.

He said presently ‘I am where I am’, indicating his current political stance.

Rumours spread that Champai Soren might have been upset with the leadership of JMM and could join the BJP.

When asked about the discussions taking place with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding his switching to the saffron party, he said, “Wait and See.”

Champai Soren is currently serving as the Cabinet Minister for the Water Resources and Higher Education Department in the Hemant Soren government.

Hemant Soren was forced to resign as chief minister on January 31 before being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged land scam case. In his absence, Champai Soren served as the chief minister from February 2 to July 3.

After his resgnation from the Chief Minister’s post, several senior BJP leaders have praised Champai Soren on various occasions.
