Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh’s tableau on Kartavya Path won the hearts during the 76th Republic Day national celebration. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his joy over this achievement on social media platform ‘X,’ stating that the return of cheetahs will not only boost our eco-tourism but also showcase our commitment to environmental conservation and biodiversity. The tableau, based on the theme of ‘Historic Return of Cheetahs,’ highlighted the state’s rich biodiversity and excellently underscored the success of the ‘Cheetah Reintroduction Project’ initiated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The tableau depicted Kuno National Park and the cheetahs settled there, which have earned Madhya Pradesh the title of ‘Cheetah State.

Historic Return of Cheetahs: A New Identity for Madhya Pradesh

In September 2023, on the occasion of his birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made history by reintroducing cheetahs brought from Namibia into Kuno National Park. This project is considered a milestone in India’s extensive efforts toward wildlife conservation. The successful rehabilitation of cheetahs has given Madhya Pradesh a new identity on the global stage.
