New Delhi, July 27 (UNI) While reiterating that there is no place for terrorism in the country, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha warned that all those heads will soon be crushed who want to test India’s patience and capabilities.
Speaking at the J&K Sambhaav Utsav 2.0 here on Friday, Sinha stressed, “In the Jammu region, whether it is the J&K police, our brave soldiers from the Army, or our CAPF men, a strategy has been worked out, and it is a matter of time; those creating problems here will face the same fate as the others.”
The J&K Administrator was replying to a concern raised by the former Parliamentarian, Dr. Karan Singh, during the event.
Dr. Karan Singh said, “Security is very important for development. In the last four to six weeks, the terrorist incidents in the Jammu region have raised concerns. I urge the Lt. Governor to find out the reason for the rise in these incidents with the help of agencies like the Army, police, and others.”.
Manoj Sinha said, “It is true that terrorism was completely wiped out of the Jammu region. After the end of terrorism, it is natural that the establishments that were there earlier have weakened. Looking at the data, I can say what has changed in the last four years, and I didn’t give those data. I want to say that in Kashmir, all the big terror outfits ‘commanders’ are not alive, and new recruitment is almost nil”.
“In the Jammu region, our neighbouring country, which is unable to provide food to its citizens, has indulged in misadventurism to test our capabilities. I want to say that we will definitely crush that head that is filled with venom. There is no place for terrorism. Even our Prime Minister has sent a strong message today, and you all know what he meant,” Sinha asserted.
While hailing the J&K Sambhaav Utsav 2.0 as a good initiative to showcase the treasure of the Union Territory, Sinha said, “Domestic and international tourism has witnessed an increase. Last year, in May, after the G20 working group meeting, there had been a rise of two and a half times with regards to international tourists. and last year more than two crore tourists have come to J&K, and we hope that this year the record of tourist footfall will be 2.5 crore.”
Stating that the biggest priority was to showcase the unique culture and tradition in front of the world, Sinha said, “We need to see how the lives of farmers, artisans, and also the cultural uniqueness can be changed and how their income can be increased.”.
At the end, he urged the entire country to be a part of a’revolutionary change’ that was being witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Karan Singh batted for the participation of the private sector, stating that this would help in the overall development of the Union Territory.
He said, “We have our own culture, dance, music, and costume, and this is the uniqueness of this region. I thank the governor for starting several projects for the upliftment of J&K. Today, the good thing is that, besides the public sector, the private sector is also thriving. Involvement of the private sector is important for the overall development of the Union Territory.”.
Those who spoke on the occasion were J&K Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Principal Resident Commissioner Rashmi Singh, and Anantnag-Rajouri MP Mian Altaf Ahmad.
