- Congratulates doctors on successful kidney transplant at GMC

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has said that the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to strengthening health services. Deputy Chief Minister Shukla congratulated the entire team for successful kidney transplant under the Ayushman Bharat scheme at Gandhi Medical College.
He said that this successful transplant will  give a new direction to tertiary health care in the state. In order to establish Madhya Pradesh as a healthcare hub, the smooth provision of high-level health services is the priority of the government.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla said that free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh annually is being provided to poor and deprived families in the state through the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Treatment of serious diseases and expensive operations have now become possible even for the economically weaker sections. This scheme is not only a means of treating diseases, but also a strong basis for improving the standard of living of the people.
Gandhi Medical College Dean Dr. Kavita Singh said that the patient for kidney transplant, 49-year-old Manuj Kumar (name changed), was suffering from kidney disease for a long time. Two years ago, during the treatment of high blood pressure, he was diagnosed with a genetic kidney disease ‘ADPKD’ (Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease). Six months ago, he was put on dialysis. Dean Dr. Singh said that his wife Kamala (name changed) showed courage and donated one of her kidneys and gave him a new life.
Dean Dr. Singh said that the surgery was done by laparoscopic method in the transplant. With this method, there is less discomfort in the operation and the donor recovers quickly. This successful transplant was done by kidney specialist Dr. Himanshu Sharma, Dr. R.R. Barde, transplant surgeon Dr. Saurabh Jain (Head of Department, Urology), Dr. Amit Jain, Dr. Sameer Vyas, Dr. Narendra Kurmi, anesthesiologist Dr. R.P. Kaushal (Head of Department, Anesthesia), Dr. Brijesh Kaushal, Dr. Shweta Srivastava, Dr. Rajkumar Ahirwar, Dr. Aseem along with nursing staff and paramedical team.
