Venkat Vijay Kumar, Bhopal
After the assembly elections, the Congress, which was badly defeated in the Lok Sabha, is busy mulling over its defeat these days.
But how serious the party officials are about this, was evident in the state level meeting of the women’s Congress on Tuesday. Neither the PCC chief nor the senior leaders of the organization were seen in this meeting.
Only the state Congress president Vibha Patel, while addressing the women leaders present in the meeting, stressed on strengthening the organization. In this meeting held on Tuesday at the Congress headquarters, the women wing of the Congress reviewed the reasons for the defeat after the Lok Sabha elections.
In the meeting, women presidents of the districts of the state, block presidents and other officials attended. It is said that the number of women officials would be more than 200, but only 70-80 officials were present in that meeting. Among them, women leaders came from Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Satna, Rewa etc.
Weaknesses will be removed
Vibha told the media that the district presidents, Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha in-charge women of all the districts participated in the meeting. She said that in the meeting, along with deliberating on the defeat of the Congress, the future action plan was also discussed and suggestions were sought. A report has been sought on the responsibilities of the officials in the Lok Sabha elections. Instructions have also been given on how the issues should be raised in the districts. Our first task will be to remove the weaknesses of the organization.
