Bhopal: Sant Hirdaram Girls College, in collaboration with its Internal Quality Assurance Cell and the Research Cell, hosted a workshop titled “The Road to Patents: Essential Steps for Successful Filing.” This event aimed to educate faculty members about the significance of patents, their filing processes, and the broader context of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
The workshop featured speakers, Dr. Vinita Mohindra, Coordinator of the IPR Cell at MANIT, and Dr. Savita Dixit, Professor of Chemistry at the same institution. Dr. Mohindra provided an in-depth overview of patents, detailing their validity, advantages, types, and the step-by-step procedure for filing.
Following her presentation, Dr. Dixit discussed the importance of green technology and innovation, focusing on eco-friendly materials, the impact of microplastics on soil pollution, and the role of medicinal plants like Tulsi and Ashok in sustainable solutions. Dr. Dalima Parwani, Principal of Sant Hirdaram Girls College, concluded the event by emphasizing the importance of Intellectual Property in academia and research.
