Bhopal: A case of robbery involving a passenger has emerged just 50 meters away from the Alpana Tiraha police post. Three assailants arrived in a green auto rickshaw and confronted a young man, demanding cash and his mobile phone. When the victim resisted, one of the attackers struck him on the head with a stick.
Following the assault, the perpetrators snatched the victim’s mobile phone and fled the scene. The police arrived shortly after, having been alerted by passersby, and called for emergency assistance. The injured youth was then transported to the hospital for treatment. Currently, no formal complaint has been filed.
The complainant, Basant Pratap Singh Rajput, is a farmer from Vidisha who had traveled to Bhopal on Saturday morning. He was spending time with a friend from Karond and was en route to Bhopal station to return home that night. Rajput recounted that around 7:35 PM, three young men in a green auto stopped near the police post. Two of the assailants approached him, demanding his mobile phone and wallet. When he protested, one of them retrieved a stick from the auto and struck him, causing a head injury, before taking his mobile phone and fleeing the scene.
At the time of the incident, Head Constable Dharmchandra Khatri and his colleague, who were stationed at the post, were unaware of the unfolding situation. However, after the altercation, a crowd gathered, and bystanders informed the police, leading to their prompt arrival and the subsequent medical assistance for the victim.
